San Cataldo is located on the Adriatic coast of Salento in Puglia, near the town of Lecce. This is a small seaside resort with a beautiful beach among the busiest in the area. San Cataldo was an important port of trade with the East during the Roman period. It was called Port Adriano after the Emperor Hadrian, who ordered its construction. In the vicinity of the lighthouse, there are still archaeological remains of this ancient port.
San Cataldo can be reached from the centre of the town of Lecce by taking the SP364 hat goes straight to this seaside resort.
