Foggia is a modern city with flowering commerce, industry and crafts. Its main historical period was during the rule of the Swabian Frederick II who built an Imperial Palace. Unfortunately of this great palace remains only a pallid memory represented by an archivolt supported by two suspended eagles.
The Cathedral of Foggia, although it has gone through numerous alterations, it remains a fine example of Romanesque architecture with Baroque touches.
Foggia is reach in Baroque buildings such as the Palazzo De Rosa and the Palazzo della Dogana.
