Morciano di Leuca
Morciano di Leuca origins go back to the IX century AD, when people moved here from the town of Vereto destroyed by the Saracens.
With the arrival of the Normans the town was owned by Sinibaldo Sambiasi and remained under his family until the XIII century.
Later, Morciano was acquired by other barons, including Gualtiero VI di Brienne, the Capece, the D'Enghien and the Catromediano.
