Malvasia is a vine variety which indicates different types of the same vine produced throughout Italy. All of them have as common denominator a spicy fragrance of musk and apricot and high sugar.
Malvasia Bianca is common grape vine in south Italy, and it is identified as typical of the Apulian territory. It is suitable for the production of Spumanti and Passiti, and it is, in general, produced with other varieties.
Malvasia Bianca produces a straw coloured, savoury and slightly aromatic wines.
This grape vine has a compact bunch, of elongated pyramidal shape and of medium size. The grapes are round and medium-small in size, with a thick and yellow skin.
Malvasia Bianca is the main vine for the production of Leverano DOP Malvasia, for a percentage of 85%. It is also found in Leverano Bianco and Passito.
