Pomodori Regina of Torre Canne, known locally as "pomodori appesi", are grown in the territory between the towns of Fasano and Ostuni, within the "Parco delle Dune Costiere, from Torre Canne to Torre San Leonardo", a protected coastal area of particular importance.

It is a juicy round shaped tomato with a strong peel of a colour ranging from orange to yellow.


Pomodoro Regina are grown organically between the months of May and June.

The picking of the fruit is done starting from the month of July. Parts of the collected tomatoes are used immediately, while another part is stored in wooden boxes until the month of September, when they are hanged on cotton threads, stored in cool rooms and consumed during winter until April/May.

This type of tomato is well suited to be consumed raw in salads or cooked for the preparation of various recipes.
