Moscato di Trani DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) is a sweet wine produced, as well as in the territory of Trani, in the territories of the towns of Bisceglie, Corato, Andria, Canosa, Ruvo di Puglia Minervino Murge. Also some parts of the territories of the towns of Barletta, Bitonto and Terlizzi.
Moscato di Trani is made with Moscato Bianco grapes. Can contribute to its production other local white grape varieties with muscat aroma, for a maximum of 15% of the total.
Moscato di Trani DOP is produced in two versions: Dolce Naturale and Liquoroso.
Moscato Dolce Naturale is a wine with an intense aroma and a sweet and velvety taste.
Moscato Liquoroso, wine with an intense and distinctive aroma, and a sweet, warm and velvety flavour.
Moscato Dolce Naturale should be served at a temperature of 8 degrees.
Moscato Liquoroso is served at a temperature between 10 and 12 degrees.
Pairing
Moscato Dolce Naturale pairs well with cream cakes and dry or cream filled pastries.
Moscato Liquoroso pairs well with desserts with almonds and tarts with apricot jam.
