The nature reserve of Le Cesine is located near the town of Lecce, along the Adriatic coast of the Salento in Puglia. This nature area, managed and protected by the WWF, is one of the last stretches of marshes that once extended between Brindisi and Otranto. It is an area with different natural habitats, dunes, wetlands, drainage canals, mixed forest and Mediterranean vegetation. There are also two ponds, Salapi and Pantano Grande, fed by the rains and separated from the sea by a strip of sandy dunes.
Le Cesine can be reached by taking the SP298 from Lecce and then the SP366 that runs along the coast and next to the nature reserve.
