Aleatico

Grape type: Black
Aleatico is a red wine grape variety quite popular in Puglia, Tuscany and Lazio. According to recent studies it is the result of a mutation of the Moscato Nero.
Although widespread in Apulia, its best qualities are expressed in wines produced in the Salento and in the Gioia del Colle DOP wine areas.
Its bunch is of medium-small size with medium sized berries covered with an uneven bluish skin.
Wines produced with Aleatico have an intense and aromatic bouquet.
